The Asters were once a species of astronomers who studied the secret of the universe and who were all about the cycle of the stars and following the rules of the universe. They deeply developed their technology until they one day unlocked the last secret of the universe. Their technological advancement and their fundamental understanding of the universe led an all powerful space-time traveler to be impressed and in awe of the beauty of their way of living that they decided that the aster was worthy of getting their great gift. The Celestial decided to live and reside on their homeworld as its final resting place.
The Asters were blessed with being able to use these divine powers and renamed themselves as their current name, the Asters, bringers of enlightenment and wisdom. The Asters traveled across space to further improve their understanding of the universe and to enlighten other species of this great gift, but they went a bit far in their quest to "enlighten" others and themselves by straight up colonizing and "purifying" entire systems to make them perfect.
The asters, who were now consumed by pride and ego, were so obsessed that they went on their final goal, to reach immortality. Their experiments were successful, but the process was horribly destructive on an interstellar level, requiring the sacrifice of entire star systems to be done, and despite the massive sacrifice, every Aster wanted immortality even if it would cost the entire universe because they believed that they were the perfect and ultimate species.
Upon discovering the horrible actions of the asters, the celestial was so furious that it punished the entire species by completely blowing up itself to terminate their access to its powers. The explosion caused a massive supernova spanning millions of light-years, and the resulting supernovae left an anomaly now referred to as point zero, the heart of the universe.The remaining asters became consumed with wrath and felt the need to rebuild their empire to prove that they are still the perfect ones. In the aftermath of the explosion, many fragments have been found, containing powers of the celestial. The Asters have tried to extract the powers within but with very little success.
